St. Louis vs. Washington,
05/01/2019 19:05 EDT,
Score: 5 - 1
Money Line: -158 Washington
This is an 8* play on the Washington Nationals.
After suffering back to back losses in this home series versus St. Louis, I expect Washington to avoid the sweep with their ace on the mound in Game 3.
Max Scherzer will toe the slab for the Nats, and he's pitched well so far in 2019. Scherzer (1-3, 4.12 ERA) allowed a pair of runs on four hits, striking out 10 in seven innings in a no decision versus San Diego his last time out.
The Cards will hand the ball to Miles Mikolas, who appears to have regressed since an impressive 2018 campaign. Mikolas (2-2, 5.29) allowed four runs on six hits in five innings in a home loss to Cincinnati his last time out. He's 0-1 with a 6.60 ERA in three starts on the road.
Mikolas hasn't fooled Washington, the Nats lineup has hit .356 over 45 combined at bats versus the right hander.
